Bosch’s 2X camera uses state of the art software to analyze and enhance each pixel. Extra processing power and new software algorithms deliver the most detailed picture possible.

 More detail in harsh lighting conditions

For every scene, Bosch’s Dinion 2X generates two images to produce the clearest picture: one long exposure resolves details in the scene’s darkest areas, while one short exposure captures the brightest areas. The digital signal processor then mixes the pixels from each image to produce the most detailed picture possible. This level of Wide Dynamic Range capability is unique to Bosch because of its 20-bit digital signal processor.

 Ability to see in low light

Infrared illumination allows Bosch cameras to provide full and accurate video information in low light situations. As a result, image quality is improved, bit rates reduced and storage requirements minimized. 3D Diffuser technology, exclusively from Bosch, effectively illuminates the foreground and background – providing light where the camera needs it. This controlled illumination ensures consistent lighting on the scene over time. Constant Light from Bosch minimizes LED degradation to ensure accurate data is provided throughout the life of the illuminator.

  Image stabilization

Video images are stabilized by processing the video inside Bosch's IP cameras and encoders. A stable image provides better quality and therefore, more usable video. Less movement enables efficient compression which translates into lower bandwidth, less storage, better network utilization and greatly improved IVA performance.

 Mechanical and environmental design

We take reliability testing seriously and put products through rigorous tests to ensure compliance to safety, certifications and warranty standards. Our rigorous tests include Highly Accelerated Life Tests (HALT) and temperature & vibration stresses while the unit is fully operational.
Bosch products are made from the toughest materials – stainless steel, CNC milled aluminum housings and polycarbonate domes – to combat attempts at tampering. Guided by exacting IP and NEMA standards, Bosch security products survive the most extreme environmental conditions.

 Ability to see in low light

  DVRS and hybrid recorders

Bosch DVRs allow storing video from analog cameras that are directly connected and provide their own, easy to set up user interface. Hybrid DVRs allow storing video from IP cameras in parallel to analog cameras.

  Recording at the Edge

Sometimes you can't afford to record everything across the network, perhaps due to bandwidth limitation or cost of transportation. However, you can’t afford to miss the video when an event requires deeper investigation of the footage. To address this, recording at the edge stores inside the camera or encoder where you can search for the event and retrieve only the relevant part of the event.
Recording at the edge is not limited to built-in storage media like SD/CF card or internal hard disk but can also be achieved by local Direct-to-iSCSI recording.

  Direct iSCSI recording

Bosch cameras can record directly onto iSCSI storage systems connected anywhere to the network without any PC or software. Our cameras utilize the available storage space most efficiently and keep control of the connectivity.

 VRM

Bosch Video Recording Manager (VRM) provides a Distributed Network Video Recorder solution, eliminating the need for dedicated NVRs and signaling the second generation of IP network video recording. VRM supports iSCSI-based storage systems and Bosch Video-over-IP devices (IP cameras and IP video encoders).
VRM eliminates the need for Network Video Recorders (NVRs) and their associated server hardware, operating systems, and anti-virus software, as well as the ongoing software patches and updates that these systems require. This makes installation, operation, and maintenance much easier while reducing the total cost of ownership.

  Tamper detection

Bosch's IP cameras and IP encoders feature built-in and license free software to detect tampering behaviors. If a fixed camera has been redirected, the lens has been hooded with some kind of material, or masked, an alarm is generated to alert to the tampering.

 Motion detection

Bosch distinguishes between motion in a given direction and has higher reliability compared to simple motion detection.

  Intelligent Video Analysis (IVA)

Embedded into Bosch's IP cameras and encoders, IVA is completely self-contained and requires no PCs, servers or other software to function. IVA features various detection scenarios: loitering, trip-wire, idle object, object removed, trajectory, speeding, speed & size filters, and color detection. IVA is tightly integrated to its video management software so that the VMS can generate a specific response to an alarm.

  Closed Loop Configuration with Forensic Search

Forensic Search technology directly impacts the usability of the video by allowing instantaneous testing on existing recorded video. You no longer need to rely on feedback of historical accuracy to confidently predict future accuracy. An accurate IVA configuration automatically leads to fewer false alarms and less noise.

  Ease of Use

Bosch uses constant feedback to improve our Intelligent Video Analytics user interface. The configuration and calibration interface has been optimized to allow a user to accurately calibrate any scene within minutes.

 Forensic search

The Forensic Search technology allows investigation of recorded video for specific events. As the search is based on metadata, it requires far less time than searching the real video. Video footage of days and months of multiple cameras can be analyzed within seconds. Forensic Search is based on rules that can be configured intuitively on the fly to find exactly the occurrences that you are interested in. A timeline shows the retrieved events and displays the related video sequence in one click.

  Timeline, time and date

Even when no metadata is stored with the video or no alarm recording is made, Bosch recording solutions present the recordings in an easy to use time line format and allow for the possibility to easily select recordings based on date and time.

  Instant playback

Search back to a predefined time (i.e. 60 sec) with one mouse-click to see how the event occurred and, at the same time, see the progress in live video.

  Multiple H.264 profiles H.264

is the latest innovation in video compression technology to provide clear video for the best possible viewing experience. Every detail in the image is captured without any compromise in frame rate. This supplies an indispensable feature for object recognition (such as license plates or a person’s face).

Bosch’s implementation of Main profile encoding for CCTV video, offers users the benefits of broadcast quality video with up to 50% less storage space required in relation to MPEG4, depending on scene and quality settings.

  Tri streaming

All Bosch encoders and IP cameras support the Tri streaming principle. By supplying three completely separate streams in different formats, video can be viewed and recorded in different qualities, and at the same time, video can be viewed on tools such as hand held devices.

  Easy upgrades

Bosch supplies free of charge firmware upgrades for all its IP cameras and encoders. The devices can be easily upgraded remotely whenever new firmware becomes available. This ensures up-to-date products with all the latest features, thus protecting your investment.

To further ensure easily keeping all devices on the network up-to-date, Bosch provides a free of charge Configuration Manager with all IP devices which not only provides an at a glance overview of the firmware levels of all devices, but also enables a one click firmware update to multiple devices.

  Image authentication

Each Bosch IP camera or encoder has an image authentication algorithm built-in, making sure that the images viewed or recorded are authentic and not tampered with.

  Export selection based on timeline information and search results

Time information about video footage to be exported is handed over from the search timeline to the export function in a matter of a few clicks.

 Multiple exports to local PC and direct burning to CD or DVD

Exports can be started right out of the timeline from all cameras that are shown. All exports are guaranteed to be based on the same time information. Once exports are made to a local PC or workstation, they can be burned to a CD/DVD automatically.

  Replay of exports from installation-free CD or DVD

Replay of exported video in highest quality for use in court is a necessity. To ensure the high quality level of replayed video and providing as much functionality as possible from the sophisticated replay features, Bosch runs its replay software directly from CD or DVD carrying the video export without any installation required.

  Evidence-based and supervised group export

In the case of an incidence that requires fast investigation and collection of evidence for huge amounts of cameras, Bosch replay and export software allow for multiple operators to search for evidence and export to a “project” directory from where a supervisor can burn the authenticated exports to DVD.

  Multicast streaming

One of the main advantages of IP video is the ability to make the video available in more places at the same time. All Bosch cameras and encoders support multicast streaming, enabling the network to copy the video stream at the edge to minimize the network load. For this mechanism Bosch utilizes the network industry standard IGMP version 3 (Multicasting Internet Group Management Protocol version 3).

  Low latency

Human communication and action requires response and reaction within a certain time period to make it convenient. Our latency for live viewing connections is optimized to below 120 milliseconds, allowing undistorted audio communication and responsive PTZ control.

  Secure links and Encryption

Sensitive data must be protected during transport and before reaching the network. Bosch cameras and encoders are password-protected on three user levels to achieve access security where the transmission control happens. Network connections can be established using secured links for the control channels.

  Video SDK

The Video SDK (Video Software Development Kit) is the core element for video management system applications and provides controlled connections to live video streams as well as recordings. It enables other software applications to integrate a wide range of IP video devices under a single object API via COM. Bosch management software is based on the Video SDK, thus guaranteeing that the maximum of features is supported in the Video SDK also for third-party software.

  RCP+ SDK

The RCP+ SDK software development kit opens up opportunities for integration into software environments where the Video SDK is not applicable. It is a low-level SDK that is used to configure Bosch devices from within other applications.

  ONVIF

Founded in 2008 by Bosch, Sony and Axis, ONVIF (Open Network Video Interface Forum) is the first step towards global standardization for interfacing network video products. ONVIF introduced an overall specification for interfacing network video devices. This enables broad interoperability and communication between different products. The whole Bosch range of IP cameras and encoders are fully ONVIF compliant when running firmware release 4.1 or higher.

 Free of Charge Management System

All Bosch IP cameras, encoders and Digital Video Recorders come with free of charge management systems for configuring, viewing, playback and archiving video. These systems can accommodate up to 16 cameras for IP devices and up to 16 units for digital video recorders. Extensions for additional functionality or larger camera count (up to 128) are available.

 Extensive user management and logging

All Bosch Video Management systems come with extensive user management and logging of events to comply with local laws or restrictions on access to video and export of recordings.

 Support for workflows

In critical alarm situations, our integration of default workflows within the Video Management user interface help to guide operators to take the required steps in the necessary order and in a controlled and consistent manner.
